david barber





David is an award nominated composer for film, television, and games hailing from Sydney, Australia. 

A graduate of both the Australian Institute of Music (AIM) and the Australian Film, Television, & Radio School (AFTRS), David has scored several feature length films, a long list of short films, documentaries, web-series, and video games. He has also worked as assistant to some of Australia's finest composers including Christopher Gordon (Master and Commander, Moby Dick) and Martin Armiger (Young Einstein, ABC News). Apart from composing, David has been involved with the music preparation for several films including Happy Feet 2Bait 3D, and Lego, and worked as a music editor on Drift.

David has been nominated for a Screen Music Award (APRA) and APRA Professional Development Award. In 2014, David was selected to take part in the NYU/ASCAP Foundation Scoring Workshop under the tutelage of Sean Callery (24, Homeland), Ira Newborn (Naked Gun, Ferris Bueller's Day Off), and Mark Snow (The X-Files, Smallville).  

David also regularly writes for Extreme Music; the production library arm of Sony/ATV publishing.
